Editors Toronto is part of a national professional editing association, Editors Canada, run by and for its members. Everything you see, read, and attend is organized and coordinated by volunteers. We’d like to recognize them.

During this past season, we were lucky to have the support of more than 40 exceptional volunteer copy editors and writers, many of whom got involved on more than one occasion. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and skills to create helpful and interesting articles, and also to all the editors who agreed to be interviewed or featured in the blog.
We published 28 articles this year on a variety of topics, including freelancing, Editors Canada events and benefits, editorial niches, personal narratives, inclusive and conscious language, and more. We also published program recaps, and a selection of our regular columns, including Editors Advise, Editor for Life, Executive Unplugged.
We thank BoldFace readers for visiting these pages, commenting on the blog posts, and engaging with our social media posts.
While we’re recognising the volunteers who worked on BoldFace, we also want to mention other volunteers who helped Editors Toronto to function efficiently. We thank all of the panellists who shared their expertise during our programs, and our informal social event organizers.

Editors Toronto Executive Team
Chair: Adrienne Bartl
Adrienne has not only fulfilled the chair’s duties, but also helped out all the other exec members when it was needed, even taking minutes while chairing meetings! She established informal social events, and organized the successful Editors Toronto 2026 Summer Speaker Event with Gill Deacon. Adrienne, you will be missed!
Treasurer: Ginny Leuty
Ginny acted as treasurer and assisted the executive with all money matters. She also acted as a sounding board for new branch initiatives. Ginny, we’ve been privileged to have your expertise and valuable contributions since 2023.
Communications co-chair: Keisha Raymond-Doopan
Keisha created the newsletter every month (after waiting patiently for everyone’s inputs) and ensured that it was sent out edited, proofread and on time. Before Carmina joined, she also created social media posts for the programs and other events, and did all the behind-the-scenes communications work. Keisha, we’ll miss you!
Communications co-chair: Carmina Ravanera
Carmina joined us mid-year after attending a branch event. She designed beautiful social media posts for the programs and other events and handled their placement, as well as doing behind-the-scenes communications work. Carmina, it’s great to have you!
Programs chair: Mary Brydon-Kehoe
Mary invited a variety of expert speakers on topics relevant to editors for the monthly programs, and initiated the popular annual “General Small Business Tax Literacy Webinar” presented at no fee by the CRA. Mary also volunteered with Editors Canada’s training and development committee. Mary, we appreciate the programs you put together and also the knowledge you share with us.
Co-editor-in-chief, BoldFace: Anneline du Preez
Anneline spent her time between managing articles, publishing, and looking for the next guest writer to highlight some of the many facets of editing in BoldFace blog posts, all while keeping up with the administrative tasks of the blog. Her innovative ideas have given us pieces on topics as widely varied as authenticity reading and time management for editors, to cozy workspace tours and favourite editing snacks. Anneline, thank you for your dedication to the quality of the blog. We look forward to reading more next year!
Co-editor-in-chief, BoldFace: Ruth E. Thaler-Carter
Ruth contributed a number of articles to the blog and sourced writers. She also presented a program for our members,“Public Speaking for Editing Professionals”, and took minutes for our branch meetings this spring. Ruth, thanks for all that you do.
Dear volunteers, we couldn’t have done it without you!
The Editors Toronto executive would like to sincerely thank you for your time, your positive attitude, and your willingness to keep this branch going. It has truly been a team effort.
