Thank You to Our Valued Volunteers!

Editors Toronto is part of a national professional editing association, Editors Canada, run by and for its members. Everything you see, read, and attend is organized and coordinated by volunteers.

During this past season, we were lucky to have the support of more than 80 exceptional volunteer copy editors and writers, many of whom got involved on more than one occasion.

We published approximately 45 articles this year on a variety of topics, including freelancing, editorial niches, style guide updates, personal narratives, inclusive and conscious language, accessibility, translation, and more. We also published book reviews, program recaps, and our regular columns, including Editors Advise, Editor for Life, What’s On Your Editing Bookshelf, What’s In Your Editing Workplace, and Executive Unplugged.

We also thank all of the panellists who shared their expertise during our programs and the editors who agreed to be interviewed or featured in the blog.

Finally, we thank BoldFace readers for visiting these pages, commenting on the blog posts, and engaging with our social media posts.

Dear volunteers, we couldnโ€™t have done it without you! The Editors Toronto executive would like to sincerely thank you for your time, your positive attitude, and your willingness to keep this branch going. It has truly been a team effort.

Considering getting involved? Here are some words from our 2024โ€“25 exec team:ย

My time at Editors Toronto is filled with heartfelt memories. Volunteering with a talented and friendly group of people on the exec, attending in-person events, picking up professional skills, broadening my understanding of the editing world, and having fun along the way has been an amazing experience.

As our editors-in-chief thank all contributors, team members, and guests, I would like to thank Natalia and Anneline. Your dedication, your contribution, and your vision for BoldFace mean so much to our community. Thank you for creating a space where our writers and readers can come together and share their knowledge, stories, and perspectives, which we deeply value. โ€“ Gulsum Salimova, outgoing co-chair, Editors Toronto

My time as co-chair is helping me achieve many of my career goals โ€“ Iโ€™ve increased my professional network and, in my role representing the organization, Iโ€™ve learned new skills I can use when promoting my own editing business. I highly recommend joining the team to share your talents with a supportive group of fellow editors. โ€“ Adrienne Bartl, co-chair Editors Toronto

I loved my time at BoldFace. Iโ€™m so appreciative of this hardworking team that is so dedicated to this branch and of all the volunteer copy editors and writers who are the reason why we are able to publish such thought-provoking, timely, and inspiring content weekly. All your time and dedication is so valued, and none of this would be possible without you all! And to those considering joining us, getting involved is a great way to meet fellow editors, so please do not hesitate to reach out for more information. โ€“ Natalia Iwanek, outgoing co-editor-in-chief of BoldFace
