So You Want to Freelance? Helpful Advice for Students and New Editors

Join Editors Toronto on Tuesday, September 28, at 7:00 pm EST via Zoom for “So You Want to Freelance? Helpful Advice for Students and New Editors.”

Are you unsure how to build your freelance client list? Do you have questions about the financial, clerical, and time management aspects of running your own editing business? In our first program of the 2021–22 season, Greg Ioannou, editor and owner of Colbourne Communications and the hybrid publisher Iguana Books, and freelance editor Letitia Henville share their advice on how you can begin and develop your editing career. Greg will discuss what potential clients consider when hiring an editor while Letitia will provide tips and tricks on how a freelance editor can market themselves and grow their business.

About the speakers:

Greg Ioannou

Greg Ioannou is a freelance editor and owner of Iguana Books, a hybrid publisher that hires a lot of freelance editors. Greg’s experiences with other freelancers have mostly been fabulous, but occasionally they’ve been…less than fabulous. Over the years, he’s learned ways to avoid working with unfabulous freelancers.
