Are you looking for ways to adapt your skills and experience to an increasingly multimedia publishing industry by learning how to think and edit across multiple platforms? Join us on November 28 for an exciting panel discussion led by four experienced editors whose work combines various aspects of print, digital, audio, and video content. Andrew Tolson (Rogers Media), Katie Underwood (Chatelaine), Anne-Marie Jackson (Toronto Star), and Jennifer Albert (Colborne Communications) will discuss their work on the digital and audiovisual side of formerly print-only publications, and address a wide range of issues related to industry-wide shifts from print to multimedia production.

More about our speakers:
Since 1992, Andrew Tolson has worked as a photographer and videographer for publications and news agencies in Canada and the U.K., including the National Post, Canadian Press, Reuters, Associated Press, and the Daily Mail. He was director of photography at Maclean’s from 2003 to 2015, after which he created the in-house Rogers Media video unit. Under his editorship, this award-winning team has grown from a staff of five to 16 videographers, editors and motion designers who produce news, mini-documentaries, live streams and lifestyle content for a variety of Rogers brands, including Chatelaine, Maclean’s, Today’s Parent, Flare, Hello, and Sportsnet.
Katie Underwood has worked with Chatelaine since 2014, first as an associate editor and now as senior editor in the magazine’s video department. Before joining Chatelaine, Katie worked as a freelance reporter, served as an assistant editor for The Grid, and interned at Sweetspot and at Uncharted Sounds magazine. Katie has received two National Magazine Awards honours and been nominated by the Canadian Online Publishing Awards for her work on cross-platform initiatives.
Anne-Marie Jackson is an award-winning photographer, videographer, and multimedia producer with national and international experience across newspapers, magazine, and online formats. Anne-Marie is an instructor and speaker for a variety of clients on the topic of visual journalism and multimedia, and she is an EPPY and POYi winner and a WEBBY honouree. She is currently a visual journalist and video producer for the Toronto Star.
Jennifer Albert is an editor, entomologist, writer, narrator, game-player, cosplayer, live-streamer, reader of All the Things, and haver to too many hobbies from Toronto. She works full-time as an editor at Colborne Communications and spends most of her time editing genre fiction, which is as much fun as it sounds, and is co-editor at the award-winning fantasy podcast PodCastle.
