Whether you work in-house or freelance, on fiction, non-fiction, or textbooks, you’ll sometimes be asked to decide if a manuscript is publishable. Greg Ioannou, the president of Colborne Communications and publisher at Iguana Books, began freelance writing and editing upon graduation from the University of British Columbia in 1977 (yes, he’s never had a “real” job). Greg has edited over 2,000 books, as well as magazines, booklets, brochures, government reports, and websites. He has clients in Canada, the United States, and Europe. He’s taught about a gazillion courses and workshops (mostly on editing-related topics) since the 1970s. He has served four terms as president of the Editors’ Association of Canada—in fact, he was the association’s first member when it formed in 1979.
